Health Care Without Walls staff dedicate themselves to providing meaningful care to all of our clients. We help these vulnerable women and their families receive the attention and care they need to access mainstream medical care, achieve stability and well-being, and reconnect with family and the community.
Our Nurse Practitioners provide a level of care and connectivity that is not available anywhere else for homeless women and their families. Our consistent and compassionate care builds trusting relationships that encourage our clients to seek long-term care and address health issues, large and small. These Nurse Practitioners are among the most kind and generous people you will ever meet.
Our team also includes Community Health Workers and housing specialists who facilitate the health care process for some of our most vulnerable population, such as homeless women who are pregnant or elderly. The Community Health Workers assist with everything from connecting with primary and specialty care providers, making and accompanying clients to medical appointments, filling out forms and applications, providing for transportation, meals, and so much more.
Clinicians are led by our Chief Medical Officer who see clients themselves and set policies and procedures to ensure that women are cared for using a trauma-informed model of care. In addition, we are fortunate to have the services of a number of volunteer physicians who donate their expertise, time and compassion to work in our clinics. Recognizing that many doctors and other medical professionals want to ‘give back’ but lack the connections, the proper equipment or the nursing support to do so, Health Care Without Walls makes volunteering as simple as possible. Coming from specialties that range from internal medicine, emergency medicine, dermatology and psychiatry, these physicians value the ability to give back, taking time to get to know our clients and help them in ways that traditional medical practices don’t always allow.
